Professor Reinhard Dummer

Reinhard Dummer is Professor at the University of Zurich and Vice-Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital of Zürich, Switzerland and a key Thought Leader in cutaneous oncology. He is also the head of the Department’s Skin Cancer and Clinical Trial Units. Professor Dummer began his medical education in Haematology and oncology before completing his Dermatology residency in Würzburg, Germany, and Zürich in 1992. He is Board Certified in Allergology, Clinical Immunology, Dermatology and Dermatopathology.
His principal research interests include molecular biology, the immunology and immunotherapy of cutaneous malignancies, and cutaneous lymphomas and melanomas.
Professor Dummer has published more than 585 papers. He has been President of the Melanoma Project Group at the Swiss Institute for Applied Cancer Research, Bern, Switzerland, since 1999, and is a past board member of the Society for Melanoma Research and past President of the International Society for Cutaneous Lymphomas. He is a founding board member of the European Association of Dermato-Oncology (EADO), and past President of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR). Recently, he was elected for membership of the German National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina).
