Martine Bagot is currently the Chairperson of the Department of Dermatology at Hôpital Saint-Louis in Paris, France, and co-director of the Saint-Louis Skin Research Center. Professor Bagot earned her medical degree from the Paris 12 University (now the University Paris Est Créteil) in 1983, and was board certified in Dermato-venereology in the same year. She specialized further and was granted official certification in Onco-dermatology in 1997.
Professor Bagot has maintained her dedication to clinical research throughout her career, beginning with a master’s degree from the Department of Immunology at Paris 6 University in 1983. She did her thesis work while serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology and was granted a PhD in 1991. Her involvement with professional research societies continued as she was promoted to full Professor, and then Chairperson, of the Department of Dermatology at the Hôpitaux Universitaires Henri Mondor in Créteil, France.
Professor Bagot has been an acting board member of the International Society for Cutaneous Lymphomas (ISCL) and of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), and organized the ESDR meeting in Paris in 2006. She has been President of the European Dermatology Forum (EDF) and President of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Cutaneous Lymphoma Task Force (EORTC CLTF), and organized the EORTC CLTF meeting in Paris in 2014. She is author of 428 publications and several patents, as well as Associate Editor of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
